‘Gers pre-season plans revealed

The club is pleased to confirm a plan for pre-season as the 21/22 campaign approaches. Fans are set to enjoy three opportunities to watch the ‘Gers in action at Shielfield Park prior to the start of a new competitive campaign – provided government roadmap targets are met and plans to lift restrictions are adhered to.

Planned fixtures:

Berwick’s pre-season will kick-off against Heart of Midlothian on Friday 25th June (7pm), with Jambos gaffer Robbie Neilson set to bring a strong outfit to Northumberland as he prepares for life back in the Scottish Premiership.

The following Saturday (3rd July, 2pm) Ian Little’s side will play host to Northern League Division 1 side North Shields, who brought a vociferous following to Shielfield on their last visit in Summer 2015, when the two sides played out a 1-1 draw.

Finally, the ‘Gers will play host to Cumbrian outfit Workington AFC on Saturday 10th July (3pm). A Northern Premier League West Division side, Workington are currently managed by former Dundee United, St Johnstone, Hearts, St Mirren and Carlisle United man Danny Grainger.

Between these dates, the club are also set to arrange and play a couple of midweek behind-closed-doors bounce matches as the coaching team look to bolster match fitness amongst the squad ahead of the new season.

The club will confirm ticketing arrangements for matches closer to the pre-season start date and when more clarity is available, with a digital ticketing system ready to go if required.
