State polls: Rain can't wash away voters' determination, says Dr Wee

PETALING JAYA: The mid-day rain in Gombak did not dampen the spirits of voters in choosing the next Selangor state government, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The MCA president said this was clear during his visit to a polling centre for the Gombak Setia seat.

"Rain started to fall in Gombak at 12.15pm but this did not dampen the spirit of voters (who showed up) to cast their votes to form the Selangor state government," he said in a Facebook post on Saturday (Aug 12).

Dr Wee, who dropped by to give words of encouragement to the poll workers and party machinery, also saluted the MCA Gombak division machinery led by Lawrence Yip for working hard to bring out more voters.

"They are working hard to bring out voters to vote in this district. May victory come to the #BarisanNasional candidates.

"This voting centre is quite unique because it is not a school or a multipurpose hall, instead it is just a closed canopy built temporarily on a field," he added.
