Representatives from Shepherdstown Rotary present a check to TALES staff

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Jefferson County Schools is grateful for two gifts from the Rotary Club of Shepherdstown to support students in need during this season of giving. Shepherdstown Rotary donated $1,250 each to T.A. Lowery Elementary School's (TALES) "Candy Cane Express" Toy Drive and the North Jefferson Elementary School (NJES) Coat Drive.

The Candy Cane Express Toy Drive assists TALES families in need of assistance during the holiday season. The annual fundraiser begins on November 1 and runs through the first week of December, with the school providing guidance on the types of toys needed. All toys donated must be new and unopened. Families will select gifts for their students before the winter break.

The NJES Coat Drive assists families in need throughout the winter months. All funds raised will go toward purchasing coats and other winter gear.

The gifts resulted from the proceeds of the Rotary Club's annual fundraiser and a significant sponsorship from Jefferson Security Bank. Representatives presented the checks to both schools on November 28.
