Iskandar Puteri road collapse: 1km bypass open to traffic


ISKANDAR PUTERI: A 1km temporary road has been built following the collapse of a 25m stretch of road between Forest City and the Tanjung Pelepas highway.

In a statement, Country Garden Pacificview Sdn Bhd (CGPV) said that the temporary road opened to traffic at 11.40am on Tuesday (July 25).

"A total of 200 workers and dozens of mechanical equipment, vehicles and machines were deployed to ensure the construction was smooth and completed within the targeted time frame," the statement read.

It added that construction was also monitored by the police, the Public Works Department, Johor State Secretary's office, Johor Mentri Besar's office and Iskandar Puteri City Council.

"An expert team comprising government departments, Forest City teams and professional consulting companies are still conducting a comprehensive investigation into the cause as well as the inspection of the subsided road section," it said.

It was reported that about 25m of road between Forest City and the Tanjung Pelepas highway collapsed on Sunday (July 23)
