This photography podcast takes you ‘beyond the lens,’ exploring the arts, travel, conservation, entrepreneurship, creative culture, and more through deep-dive interviews with some of the world's most influential and inspiring people.
Host Richard Bernabe is a renowned photographer, intrepid world traveller, explorer, author, and champion of wildlife and endangered species. He’s been hailed as one of the "Top 30 Influential Photographers on the Web" by the Huffington Post and Influence Digest's "20 Photographers Changing the World Through Social Media." He has travelled to more than 60 countries, capturing photographs and writing for clients including National Geographic, CNN, The New York Times and the BBC.

Richard Bernabe has been a professional photographer for over two decades. During that time, he has become one of the most respected names in his chosen field. Beyond the Lens sees the esteemed photographer move into the role of podcast host.
Bernabe is a South Carolina native whose work focuses on the beauty and splendor of nature. His first book of photography was South Carolina Wonder and Light. The book would first see publication in 2006. Since that time, he has gone on to have his photography featured in several prominent publications. These include Audubon, National Geographic, and the New York Times.
Bernabe is passionate about photography, travel, and wildlife conservation. Beyond the Lens allows him to explore all of these topics, and more, in a new creative format.
One of this podcast's highlights is Bernabe's interviews with other photographers. Being well-known in that community, he has gotten some prominent peers to appear as guests.
Some of the more notable interviews are with Daniel Sackheim and Steve McCurry. Sackheim is an Emmy-winning TV producer and director. He has worked on such programs as Game of Thrones and NYPD Blue.
McCurry is an internationally known photographer who has been working professionally for decades. Afghan Girl, his famous photo, has been on the cover of National Geographic multiple times.
Bernabe is an engaging and thoughtful host who asks insightful questions. He has a great deal of respect for the people that he is interviewing. As such, he has no intention of wasting even a moment of their time.
Much of the information here will also be helpful to beginning photographers as well. For example, the beginning of McCurry's interview would likely be beneficial. It sees the two men discussing the best way to approach a subject while doing street photography.
