How does he get over this, with no friends at home or at work? Then looking through a local paper he sees an advert to join a club for 18-30 year old’s. After much deliberation, he joins, his new social life helping him to forget his woes. There he meets Sandy who is recovering from an overdose after being jilted by her boyfriend. Slowly they build up a relationship and get married and have two children.

Twenty-five years later, while travelling home on the train, he bumps into Debbie, his first love, who is divorced and now single. It was nice talking to her, but they both have their own lives to live.

However, Sandy has her elderly mother living alone to look after. When her mother develops dementia, their marriage takes a turn for the worse, as Sandy must spend much more time caring for her mother. He confides in Debbie and starts seeing her. Now, he faces a dilemma, does he stick with Sandy, who he hardly ever sees, or leave her for Debbie who seems very keen to take up with him again?

The story could have read better. It was very stilted and disjointed.
It needs to be proofread again too as there are quite a lot of mistakes.

Finds his first love( which was no accident by her) and things start to heat up. Things brought up from the past and now. This is a definite must read

I choose this novel in another authors promo. This is my review. Ian and Sandy, and Ian and Debbie A young man falls " in lust with a gal who leads him astray. She seduces him and promptly dumps him. Fast forward twenty-five years, Ian and Sandy are happily married, two daughters that have left the nest, when Sandy's Mum falls ill with dementia and a heap of health problems that draws Sandy's attention to more or less leaving her husband alone and distraught. Now the heart of the story takes you into the turmoil. Well written, not too fast paced, somewhat slow at times, but still a good read, a twisty ending that surprised me!

This is a brilliant read! It pulled me in from beginning to end and held my attention. The world building is detailed and imaginative. This novel has strong, well developed characters and an interesting story line that keeps you turning the pages. I recommend this novel and would read more novels by this author.

I disliked the main character from early on, but hung in there to see how it ended. This was very much a good look at mental illness and its affects on the lives individuals who struggle with it and those close to them. It only seemed to scratch the surface and I
would have been interested in it going into more depth. The main character struggled with negative thinking and not sure i feel the ending was justified .
