KUALA LUMPUR: Perikatan Nasional Youth will hold a rally to voice its dissatisfaction over Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi's discharge not amounting to an acquittal (DNAA) on 47 graft charges.

Perikatan Youth chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari said they would hold the peaceful assembly in front of a shopping mall here at 2pm on Sept 16 as part of its "Save Malaysia Movement" (Gerakan Selamatkan Malaysia) launched on Sunday (Sept 10).

"We call upon all young people and Malaysians to come together in unity, dress in white, and bring the Malaysian flag as a symbol of our love and spirit to save our beloved homeland," he said.

Bersatu Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal, who was also present, said the motion for the Dewan Rakyat to demand the Attorney General's explanation on Ahmad Zahid's DNAA would be Perikatan's first agenda on Monday (Sept 11).

On Friday (Sept 8), Wan Ahmad filed a motion on this matter.

The Machang MP said he would raise the motion at 10am in Parliament.

"I have not received any official reply from Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul's office as the notice was filed at 10am on Friday.

"I was informed that the Parliament Speaker wants to meet me at 9am tomorrow (Sept 11). I will be there and see what he says," he said.

On Sept 4, High Court judge Datuk Collin Lawrence Sequerah upheld the prosecution's application for a DNAA, which cited 11 reasons for the application.

A DNAA means an accused can face trial for the same charges in the future if the prosecution so decides.
