Eben’s 32nd Birthday/ Christmas list
Bday: August 25, 1992
I’ve written this list with anyone who views it in mind, although some items are more applicable than others. Some of this list is recycled from 2023.
Yellow Highlighter means I’ve received one already. There’s a chance another won’t hurt usually.
Cyan highlighter is specifically for moving gifts.
* Chair to replace my current chair which is falling apart. It should hold my weight well like the last one. Whether we’ll install the arms this time, I’m not sure, depends on the chair, but I’m open to it.
Example candidate:

MiniDV cam-corder. Mainly so I can convert the box of tapes my parents gave me.
Yearly payment for 24 hour fitness. Preferably during November when they have a sale.
Japanese Futon. King or Queen sized. I’m going to try one out at a store in San Mateo first. To be used with my Wilton Court apartment. Could be a wider, less costly alternative to a Murphy Bed. As always, no frame no problem!
A fancier upscaler. A good example is the Retrotink 5x Pro. It has S-video as well as Component, unlike the one I usually use, and has one of the lowest lag rates in the industry. It would be useful for video conversion, but also effectively eliminate the need for CRTs (big hunky old, but lag-free televisions) as long as I’m living in a small apartment like Wilton Court. That said, I do have a couple lower end ones already:

Sennheiser 600s headphones (fancy headphones):

Software:
Davinci Resolve Studio (full version of my most used video editing software. $295)
Sony Vegas. High end alternative to Davinci. https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/vegas-pro/
Computer Hardware
External harddrive: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B092R5KTT7/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
Travel together:
A ride and trip to the Pinball Museum in Alameda. It never hurts to repeat.
A ride and trip to Santa Cruz arcade
Big trip ideas:
Germany – maybe we can see a castle or Attendorn. Possibly after citizenship is figured out.
Hawaii – the barbeque, musubi and beaches captured my imagination last time. Maybe there’s a museum, a luau?
Food:
* A batch of chocolate chip blondie brownies. This is particularly desirable
Ice Cream Cake
A Costco , New York Pizza (mountain view or Palo Alto) or “Slice of NY”(sunnyvale pizza place) Pizza
Trip to a Sushi place
Gyuudon! (no onion, of course. Yoshinoya is an example of a place that does this)
Treated to either Chicken & Tea, Tea Verde, or Tea Cub.
Some kind of curry and rice without onion. Last time I went to an Indian place they had great tandoori for my onion-allergic type but it’s been a while since I’ve had curry because of that
Clothes/ accessories:
Socks that fit size 12-13. Stretchy.
A fitting pair of shorts, preferably cargo.
A fitting red turtleneck. Although green or white are also colors I don’t have.
A backup pair of swim trunks
A blue beret.
Comic Books:
Any “Du côté de chez Poje” comic book (Bruno Carpentier, Raoul Cauvin)
Foxtrot comics
Dragonball volume 10-11-12, 3-in-1 -- this is for the original dragonball manga, not Z.
70s-80s Spiderman issues
Heathcliff (Star Comics)
Toys:
No idea at the moment. I’ve got plenty of plushes and don’t care for action figures these days.
Art:
Fanart of my work (as seen on https://tapas.io/frostey )
This could be music I could use based on many of my comics; Cat Donut and Landlubber aren’t very well represented in music for example
Voicework for one of my videos
Get togethers:
Playing various video games like KOF98UMFE and Power Bomberman
We can watch something like Kinnikuman or Monty Python’s Flying Circus or Ernie Kovacs
Games:
Controllers:
Scanline City arcade stick. Consult with me on the specs like joystick and button colors, but mainly I want the MAS Classic with concave buttons. Brook Fusion Board. It’s about $600 but it’s a style I’ve never owned but enjoyed immensely using in the past: https://www.scanlinecity.com/masbuild

As for what I’m planning to do on my birthday day, i’m thinking spending it home wouldn’t be that bad – however, I wouldn’t mind having guests if it means sharing my birthday sweets. It will be possible to convince me to spend it with someone.
Having a get together with a friend is one simple possibility.
One possible idea for a party is to have a “32Bit Game Party” due to me being 32 years old. This mostly means PS1 and Saturn games, but they can also be sprite or low-poly based multiplayer games that are based on franchises from that generation (Duck Game, Power Bomberman)
