Would you invest in a 50-year-old founder? What about a 60-year-old founder? The data will shock you as to who is the most likely to be successful.

Thanks for sharing, Adam Ryan. This could be another underrepresented group we could add to the 10% Foundation. Would love to hear your thoughts.

The value of wisdom over willingness, experience over exuberance is well proven. My network of 50yr oldies is trusted and always well placed for receiving capital, as well as playing advisory, interim mgmt and board roles. But there’s always a place for the younger, tech savvy and (usually) B2C market understanding that comes with the younger Gens. Understanding each others lingo and argo slang,… is a different issue,…

Give me a 50+ female founder any day. She's not doing it for the glamour or easy money or to sound cool. She's taking a huge risk after a lifetime of not being reckless. She's doing it because she's committed and probably brings extraordinary experience to the process. Probably the smartest person in the room in her domain of expertise and the last to even think it. If I can kick down a few of the doors that slam in the face of older and female founders and surround her with other smart, connected people, great. I've met very few older female founders who don't play straight. .

The data speaks volumes. I'll add that one allure of investing in younger founders is the opportunity to back them in future ventures. You now know each other and have a good sense of whether you want to try to win a championship together in the next season.

Tell me something I don't know! Here's another: entrepreneurs don't take risks. They find out how to do something everyone esle thinks is hard/impossible and arbitrage it.
