The biggest lie ever... The more hours you put in, the more valuable you are. Let's dig into this: 🚫 Hours worked are a mere quantity. ✅ Value created is about quality. Ever had that one coworker who's first to arrive, last to leave, but you're never quite sure what they did all day? Or how about that rockstar team member who seems to get everything done in half the time? Remember: 1 -- Efficiency trumps hours. Working smart is key. Know your goals, strategize, prioritize, and execute. 2 -- Breaks enhance creativity. Moments of rest often birth the best ideas. Ever had that Eureka moment during a walk or a shower? 3 -- Burnout kills value. Overworking diminishes the quality of work. Exhausted brains make mistakes. 4 -- Redefine 'hard work'. It's not about hours clocked in but challenges overcome, solutions found, and results achieved. So next time you're burning the midnight oil ask yourself: Am I doing this for the illusion of productivity or am I genuinely creating value? Don't measure worth by the ticking clock. Measure it by the impact you make. Play full out, Andy ___ P.S. My process for efficiently generating leads without burning out: https://lnkd.in/e8z77_SB

Sadly, many companies view hours worked as a measure of value created and it's complete BS. Someone with a strong sense of urgency and ability to multi-task will get much more done in much less time. Not to mention that value created starts with perception. If your customer is sending requests for information, reports, solutions, etc., you add value in how you respond as well as with the end result. I add immediate value by responding to my customer immediately because they no longer have to worry about that request. They know our team is on it and we'll get that to them. Create the perception of value, provide the results and over deliver.

We get paid by the hour, but that doesn’t translate to productivity or value created in our industry. And the hours that we commit to spend for work is an estimate. You shouldn’t feel like you have to be occupied 💯 % all the time. Or that working outside office hours is a must. That you take pauses or leave early after finishing a task doesn’t affect anyone negatively. It contributes to a healthy life. It is balance to say “No, not now” not just because you are entitled to it.

Pareto concluded 20% of input will lead to 80% of output, commonly known as the 80/20 rule. You just need to knuckle down on the 20% to achieve the 80.

📌 So true! Andy Mewborn It's not about how much time you spend on a task. Rather it's all about how soon you get it done. They advice taking a break every 90 minutes but in my experience it doesn't work. I take a break when I see myself getting zoomed out. Sometimes I am in flow for 5 hours and other times I take a break just after half an hour. It all depends. How do you see it?Andy Mewborn

I'm with you, especially because, by the time you've acquired a particular set of skills it becomes easier to plan for succes because you know what it takes. And sometimes you can even tactfully underpromise and overdeliver :D However in the early stages of your career (and this has more to do with learning rather than adding value) I believe it's a numbers game. The hours you put in are worth more over time. In the words of the late Kobe Bryant; the kid that trains every day for 2 hours consistently for over a year has an insurmountable advantage over the kid that only trains for 2 hours per week in the same year. Put in the work and you'll get better and make it easier for your future self

"The first rule of any technology used in a business is that automation applied to an efficient operation will magnify the efficiency. The second is that automation applied to an inefficient operation will magnify the inefficiency." -Bill Gates 👆🏻 Applies to humans just as much as technology. In other words: ✅ Work longer hours on things that matter (efficiency). ❌ Don't work longer hours on things that don't matter (inefficiency). Love this Andy Mewborn. Also, your a** is between two asses...which I thought was funny 😂. More of these please :)

100%. And your performance generally drops throughout the day. Be productive at your peak times and live your life during the rest of the day.
