The Deputy Inspector-General of Police said a total of 20 investigation papers (IPs) have been opened.

"So far there is no report on hate speech involving race, religion and royalty (3R) in Selangor (during the elections).

"We hope it will continue until the end of the state elections," he told a press conference at the Selangor police headquarters on Tuesday (Aug 8).

Earlier, Ayob Khan monitored the early voting process involving those in the Selangor police contingent.

Ayob Khan was accompanied by Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan and Deputy Comm Datuk S. Sasikala Devi.

Ayob Khan said a total of 68 voting centres and 93 voting streams are involved in early voting in the state.

"A total of 18,557 police officers and personnel as well as 8,600 Armed Forces' personnel and officers are involved in early voting at the Selangor police contingent. A total of 26,557 personnel will be casting their early vote today," he said.

Ayob Khan said he was confident the voter turnout for early voting will be high.

"For the last general election, 97% of security forces personnel and officers turned out for early voting," he added.
