About TSSP Phase 3

The PNG–Australia Transport Sector Support Program (TSSP3) is a critical, high-priority Australian investment that stands to make a major contribution to PNG development outcomes.

Working closely with the Government of PNG (GoPNG), TSSP3 will build on the significant body of achievements, lessons, and relationships from the past 15 years of operation and will continue to contribute to the achievement of the overarching goal of:

‘A more effective, efficient, and inclusive transport system, enabling the economic and social development of PNG.’

About the Role

The Events Coordinator will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a wide range of events, including corporate meetings, conferences, seminars, workshops, and social gatherings.

The role will include liaising closely with relevant DFAT staff from the Australian High Commission to assist with launches, official openings, and other public diplomacy events. This role involves collaborating with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure that each event is planned and executed effectively.  

About you

 

To be successful for this role, you must possess the following including, but not limited to:

  • Tertiary qualifications in events management, marketing, journalism, hospitality, or other relevant discipline highly regarded but not essential 
  • At least five (5) years of practical experience in a similar role  
  • Demonstrated skills in event design, developing briefs and planning and all aspects of event management 
  • Understanding of public relations and basic diplomacy and protocol for events 
  • Experience providing communications and events management support 
  • Established networks with local and national media outlets, suppliers, venue and facilities managers and ability to solve problems 
  • Strong knowledge of delivering events in PNG with networks in urban and rural areas 
  • Experience working in the international development sector on donor-funded programs and liaising with various government bodies and industry groups is highly regarded but not essential 
  • Provincial travel will be required
