It looks like the Huracán name will bow out once the visceral sports car’s production run comes to an end with the Temerario title taking the reigns ready to be seated alongside Lamborghini’s first electrified creation; the Revuelto.

The announcement of the Lamborghini Huracán’s successor, named Temerario, signals a significant milestone in the Italian automaker’s lineage for a multitude of reasons. Uncovered by CarBuzz through a recent trademark filing at the European Intellectual Property Office, the name has been accompanied by a logo, featuring subtle horn motifs framing the name.

As the only fresh addition to Lamborghini’s lineup, the Temerario is expected to inherit the mantle from the Huracán but it seems this naming convention has gone against the grain. Intriguingly, the Temerario’s name, translates to “reckless” in English which suggests a departure from convention and a willingness to explore uncharted territories. The Lanzador is expected to debut by the close of the decade as the Raging Bull’s first pure electric vehicle so it would be safe to assume that this won’t be fully electric. The decision to deviate from the tradition of naming models after fighting bulls is noteworthy, reflecting a shift towards embracing broader cultural symbolism.
In terms of powertrain, the Temerario is expected to receive a hybridized V-8 powertrain replacing the iconic V-10 engine. With possibilities ranging from adapting the Urus SUV’s plug-in hybrid system to the utilization of the potent 3.8-liter V-8 from the SC63 Le Mans Hypercar, there is still no certainty as to what Lamborghini will use to power the newcomer.
