About City of Ketchikan Port and Harbors
Ketchikan is well known as the “First City”, which means we are the first stop for vessels coming to Alaska from the south. The city manages six small boat harbors, with over 1100 slips. We operate at 100% occupancy but do provide transient moorage on a first come/first served basis as long as there are slips available. We do not take reservations but if you would like to fill out a reservation, we will put you on a wait list, but this will not guarantee a stall at the time of arrival. We practice “hot berthing” and you will need to be available to move your vessel at anytime. Water and power is available on most stalls, but can be limited at times. Our harbors are large and our staff is small so be prepared to dock your vessel without assistance from our staff. Harbormasters are available on VHF channel 16 & 73. We ask that you do not hail the harbormasters until you are about 15 mins out at which time we will assign a stall if available. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
