IMPORTANT INFORMATION & NEWS

  • David Howlett unexpectedly died on 8th Oct.  It is obviously a shock to Margaret and their two sons Mark and Neil.  Let us pray for them and for the many people who knew them from both Green Street Baptist Church and at St Mark’s.

  • There will be a thanksgiving service for the life of Keith Sheepwash as part of the morning service on Sun 15th Nov at the usual time of 10.30am. Due to the limited capacity in the church, please consider giving priority to those who were unable to attend Keith's funeral in person.

  • Asha and Nelson Arul are preparing themselves to leave for China from India. Please pray for their visa and flight tickets to be processed with ease, negative results for their multiple Covid tests, and finally for God’s comfort, peace and rest during their quarantine time when they arrive and return.

  • Sue Jenner is currently undergoing chemotherapy. Joyce MacVoy has had a couple of falls recently and awaiting a CT scan. Claire & Chris’ little niece Connie is being treated in hospital. Pauline’s daughter-in-law Liz is continuing her combined chemo & immunotherapy treatments. Natasha Mcready undergoing chemo treatment. Tracey Crouch MP for Chatham & Aylesford  is undergoing chemo. Please pray for these and for all those you know needing the Lord’s healing touch and comforts.
  • Christmas is coming! Mayowa will be bringing together a virtual community choir to record some traditional hymns as well as a brand new Christmas song. Singers of any age are welcome to take part. Sign up by 15th Nov.  Get in touch if you are interested: 07951147352, Singgillinghamsing@gmail.com
  • We would love to encourage you all to participate in Operation Christmas Child. The mission is to provide God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. This year you can contribute by virtually packing a shoebox online via their website. Full details here.
  • This year the Winter Night Shelter is looking to work with the Hope into Action model of Supported Housing and is looking for volunteers to decorate and furnish a house to make it into a home. We have supported the Winter Night Shelter, both financially and practically, for a number of years and many guests have benefitted from the support and have moved onto more permanent accommodation and into jobs. We are focusing now on those who have more complex issues and need a little bit more support to turn their lives around. If you would like to be involved with this, please contact Saju.
  • St Marks Pre-school has a vacancy for an experienced Level 3 Early Years Practitioner. If you are interested in the role, or would like further details Please contact Lance Hanning.
