RM150,000 worth of donations were distributed to the needy in the police force


KUALA LUMPUR: Yayasan Seri Negara (YSN) and the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) distribute RM150,000 worth of donations in food and medical equipment to the needy in the police force.

YSN patron Tan Sri Mazlan Lazim said 1,050 food baskets were distributed to all police stations in Kuala Lumpur.

"The donations include 21 beds, 12 wheelchairs, and 30 canes to the needy and disabled in KL police as well as retired police personnel who are suffering from chronic illness," he said during the event at KL police headquarters on Wednesday (Sept 20).

Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay and KL police chief Comm Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid were among those who attended the event.

Mazlan, who is a former Deputy IGP, said YSN was grateful to collaborate with MAIWP and KL police to help those in need and to lessen their burdens.

"The foundation has conducted 30 similar programmes since 2022, which benefited 2,995 recipients with total donations worth RM495,000.

"24 benefited the police force with donations totalling RM376,000 have been distributed to the police nationwide," he said.

Mazlan said he hoped that such programmes would inspire other parties, be it corporate entities or individuals, to step up efforts to help the needy, such as orphans and the needy.

"We will step up efforts to help the needy in future," he said.
