It is good to learn a sport and playing it regularly. Badminton is a sport that does not look difficult but can take quite a time to master. When I started playing badminton, I was not too good at it and one day I decided I won't ever play badminton again because it is not my cup of tea. The first few exercises and practices are there to better your footwork. Follow these simple exercises and practices to increase your badminton skills and master the art of playing the sport.

Jogging

You need to incorporate jogging in your workout routine to get your footwork right. You need to jog at least 3 times a week. This will increase your endurance and stamina which will let you play continuous shots and strokes without tiring.

Skipping

No, I don't mean you need to skip classes or work to practice. Start skipping a rope for at least 10 minutes a day to become more comfortable with your toes being continuously at work because for playing badminton you need to keep your feet light and nimble.

Silent footwork

To see how good your footwork is, examine how silent your footsteps are if there is no noise it means you can have good footwork and you are good at absorbing pressure on your feet.

Today badminton is not just a game to be played to pass time, but people are taking it seriously and starting to see it as a career. A lot of badminton academies are opening up across the country to train people professionally. If you take it seriously you might be the next champion or if you just play it as a hobby to stay healthy and fit then you might teach the sport to your kids someday and they might turn out to be the next champions.

The thing is that you should not give up on your dreams and hobbies even if you are not great at it. Nobody learns in one day and you might take some time. If you have the willingness to play then you can definitely do it with or without help. Getting some help is better if you want to learn faster.
