Leading Professional Development & Building Spaces for Critical Self-Awareness to Advance Student Success

I am a equity-minded researcher, educator, and athletic trainer. I approach professional development through an equity lens, educating faculty, clinicians, staff, and members of leadership towards greater critical awareness and self-reflection to focus on helping every student thrive. My research is informed by my lived experiences as a Chicano-queer-1st gen-low SES student and aims to advance and improve peer-to-peer and student-educator interactions, reducing barriers to success for students. My work highlights the experiences of students from minoritized backgrounds and aims to empower and improve student persistence.
