Christy Award Hall of Fame Author

After surviving a trauma several years back, Remy Reed relocated to a cottage on one of Maine’s most remote islands. She’s arranged her life just the way she wants it, spending her time working on her wood sculptures and soaking in the beauty of nature. It’s quiet and solitary—until the day she spots something bobbing in the ocean.

Her binoculars reveal the “something” to be a man, and he’s struggling to keep his head above water. She races out to save him and brings him into her home. He’s injured, which doesn’t detract from his handsomeness nor make him any easier to bear. He acts like a duke who’s misplaced his dukedom...expensive tastes, lazy charm, bossy ideas.

Remy would love nothing more than to return him to his people, but he has no recollection of his life prior to the moment she rescued him. Though she’s not interested in relationships other than the safe ones she’s already established, she begins to realize that he’s coming to depend on her.

Who is he? What happened that landed him in the Atlantic Ocean? And why is she drawn to him more and more as time goes by?

There’s no way to discover those answers except to walk beside him down memory lane.

Travel to the rocky coast of Maine for "opposites attract" banter, witty humor, a fascinating mystery, and destiny-changing love. This sweet contemporary romance kicks off Becky Wade's new Sons of Scandal series!

Swoony romance with a mystery

Listen... I love the quirky heroines. Every. Single. Time. Pair them with a confident hero who doesn't shy away from the quirks, but instead encourages them and I'm a goner. Banter? I'm all for it.

Side-character I'm most excited to see more of: Fiona. I know... I'm probably one of the few. But I am confident that Becky Wade is going to do something to knock our socks off with her story in the next two books and I am here for it. Was she easy to love? Nope. But I see the potential for great growth. She amused me in her own way though. She walked right off the page for me.

Jude's story is next and I loved the set-up of his story in this one. It was enough of a glimpse that it hooked me.

P.S. Buy yourself some chocolate pudding... It'll only enhance the reading experience.

As for the narrators - I knew I would enjoy this narration because I enjoyed the same narrators with this author's "Then Came You". Ryan Hudson is simply fantastic for a hero. And knowing that the author hand-selected them makes it that much better because you know THIS is how she wants to hear the story.

Fantastic!

This book had me from page one! I loved every aspect of the romance, the mystery and the setting! I couldn't get enough! The dual narration made the story and characters come to life - highly recommend!

Enjoyable

Wade shows off her skill in Memory Lane, weaving an intricate story of trauma and renewal. There wasn't as much 'Christian' element as I had expected but it was still good. I'm looking forward to reading the next one in the series. I listened to the audio edition of this book and the narrators did fabulous!

Looking forward to more!

I really enjoyed this mystery, romance novel. This is a book about redemption, starting over, and facing fears. I liked that. It was more than a romance, but had a interesting mystery to unravel. It definitely kept my attention until the end I thought the narration was very well done

Not what I expected

As an avid reader of Becky Wade, I didn't even think twice before purchasing this book. The story was good but it was completely out of step with her usual Christian romance genre, and had that been highlighted in the description, I would have taken time to decide if this was a read for me. Again, story is good and the choice is the authors as to what they write. However, I felt a little bait and switch as a dedicated supporter of their work.
