Taskforce Vision Statement

We envision a future where Kennebunkport is adapting to the inevitable impacts of our changing climate and is doing its part to slow the rate of detrimental climate change. In this sustainable, responsible, clean energy future, our Town and Community make all decisions using the three pillars of sustainability; social, economic, and environmental.

Purpose and Role of the Community Task Force:

  • Serve as the community-led committee for the process.
  • Enable robust community engagement.
  • Pool input, resources, and feedback from throughout the community.
  • Help develop goals for each sector of the Climate Action plan.
  • Provide guidance and oversight of the planning process.

The Climate Action Plan developed through this process will be a roadmap outlining specific activities Kennebunkport will undertake to address the causes and impacts of climate change. We want your help in ensuring this plan reflects the community’s vision for a sustainable and resilient Kennebunkport. Business owners, community groups, non-profit leaders, committee members, educators, as well as residents at-large are encouraged to get involved.

Learn more about the plan and how to get involved on the project website. This website is the home for information on the cohort, the communities involved, events you can attend, and message boards to join in on the conversation.
