Salahuddin undergoes successful surgery for brain haemorrhage

ALOR SETAR: Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub successfully underwent an operation for brain hemorrhage.

Kedah Parti Amanah Negara chairman Datuk Mahfuz Omar said Salahuddin underwent a four-hour surgery on Saturday (July 22) which ended at about 7.30am.

"The operation went well and he is recuperating well," he said when contacted.

He said Salahuddin is resting and accompanied by his family members at Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital, Alor Setar in Kedah.

Mahfuz said Salahuddin was supposed to join him at a ceramah at Alor Setar but skipped it after not feeling well.

"He is being monitored now by specialists and let us all pray for his fast recovery," he added.

Salahuddin's press secretary Syakirin Husnal said the minister has been moved to the ICU after the surgery.

He urged everyone to not speculate on the issue so as to not confuse the public.

The Amanah deputy president was rushed to hospital for treatment at 10.15pm on Friday (July 21) after experiencing nausea and vomiting.
