    On this week’s episode of THE REEL PODCASTERS, Regan and Dan celebrates the 20th anniversary of one of the most nostalgic video games of their childhoods, with THE SIMPSONS: HIT & RUN! The game follows the Simpson family and their friend Apu Nahasapeemapetilon as they witness many strange incidents that occur in Springfield; security cameras, mysterious vans, crop circles, and a "new and improved" flavour of the popular soft drink Buzz Cola that causes insanity. Taking matters into their own hands, they discover numerous shocking secrets, and soon realise these incidents are part of a larger alien conspiracy, caused by Kang and Kodos. Considering the love this game has received over the years - and given the game still retails for extraordinary prices in secondhand shops - this is a pretty easy episode to guess how the lads are going to gush over the game.     It’s time to celebrate the widely realised BATMAN DAY! Now as ever on THE REEL PODCASTERS, Regan and Dan never stick to the norm. They could have spoken about The Dark Knight Trilogy (coming in 2024!) but instead they cover an equally important adaptation of the Batman character, with the 1943 black and white serial! The serial's story line involves the Batman, a secret U.S. government agent, attempting to defeat the schemes of Japanese agent Dr. Daka operating in Los Angeles at the height of World War II. Hardly the most critically acclaimed take on the series, let alone most well known, there’s actually a lot to unpack with this, given it actually started a few trends that would continue with the Batman mythos.
