My Project

If you teach middle school, you know that they are heavily reliant on the use of technology to engage with one another. However, technology based down time does not encourage socialization and relationship building.

The goal of this project is to give students structure to facilitate socialization in the classroom.

Games provide a basis to get students together, to get students talking and to provide a space with a common goal to serve as a structure for the time. I have found that if students do not have some structure, they are more likely to become rude and loud.

Games provide a structured setting for students to socialize. They promote verbal communication, critical thinking skills and leadership.
