2024-25 House of Germany Kinderwerkstatt Registration
Our German classes are active and full-immersion German. In small groups, we will speak, listen, write, and read, learn grammar, and experience cultural specialties and holidays - all in an age-appropriate way.
The House of Germany Kinderwerkstatt is a community language school founded in 1997. Support from the community is welcome and necessary to keep the Kinderwerkstatt running. Please ask how you can help!
The House of Germany in Balboa Park, San Diego (CA), is a member of the the House of Pacific Relations (HPR) that promotes multicultural goodwill and understanding through educational and cultural programs.

EVENTS
All children are expected to perform at our annual Winter Holiday Party on December 15, 2024, where all of our members are invited to join one another for a holiday luncheon with the children’s performance followed by the House of Germany Choir Christmas Concert. We hope all of our students will also join us for our annual Lantern Fest gathering on November 14, 2024, and our end of the year picnic on May 15, 2025.

Monthly Craft & Film Club (adults) - 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:30pm - alternating crafting and movie night - free for HoG members (material cost might apply)

PAYMENT
Most classes run for the entire school year from September until May and will be paid in full at the beginning of the school year. If you join a class during the school year, your tuition will be prorated.
Siblings receive a 20% discount. Please pay via Zelle (through your bank account) or by check.
You will receive an invoice and a receipt.

The House of Germany (HoG) hosts and supports the Kinderwerkstatt German language program. At least one parent of each student (or one adult per household) must become a member of The House of Germany for the calendar year. Your membership covers our insurance during the class and allows you all the rights and privileges of being a House of Germany member.  All members are expected to host at least once a year in our cottage in Balboa Park. This is a fun way to share the German culture with the public and get to know other parents and HoG members.

The HoG – Kinderwerkstatt often takes photos of students at work and at play. We occasionally use photos of our students in the class setting for the sole use of internal House of Germany - Kinderwerkstatt posters, HoG monthly newsletters and digital publications which include our webpage and our Facebook page. Names of children will never be posted.
