ASPU representatives visit University of Teramo in Italy

On November 14 -18, a study visit was organized to the University of Teramo (Italy) within the framework of the Erasmus+ ARMDOCT Project (Reforming Doctoral Education in Armenia in Line with Needs of Academia, Industry and Current EU Practices).

The visit was attended by representatives of the partner universities, including members of the ASPU working group: Marianna Harutyunyan, Vice-Rector for Human Resources and International Cooperation, Mariam Ispiryan, Vice-Rector for Education and Science, Tigran Mikayelyan, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Samvel Asatryan, Head of the Department of Education Management and Reforms, and Raisa Avetyan, Chief Specialist at the International Cooperation Unit.

The study visit aimed to familiarize the participants with the process of organizing doctoral education in Italy, research activity of the University of Teramo and research in the interdisciplinary domains, the process of ensuring the quality of research, etc.

During the meeting, ARMDOCT’s Armenian partners focused on the doctoral schools which are opening in universities within the framework of the project.

Tigran Mikayelyan, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages at ASPU, presented the concept of the special and inclusive school which is opening at ASPU.

Let us add that the work on establishment of the doctoral school has already started: a research competition has been announced to bring the first researchers to the doctoral school.
