The Museum of Cambridge does not have a wheelchair accessible building. Visitors with limited mobility can explore the shop, which is accessible via a street level entrance. There is also a wheelchair accessible toilet on the ground floor, with a rail.
Visitors with additional needs are welcome to bring a supporter or carer who will be admitted to the Museum free of charge.
All visitors should be aware that our building is very old. Though full of character, it also has uneven floorboards, narrow staircases, and crooked doorways. There is a lift in the building if required.
We are working on enhancing our accessibility and we recognise that this is a core development priority. In the meantime, please do explore this collaborative project with Kettle’s Yard. It is not intended to be a ‘virtual tour’, but it showcases the Museum’s interior and highlights some of our objects.
