Every semester, AASU and the ACEC hosts a cultural achievement ceremony for the graduating seniors of the Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) community. If you are a senior graduating this semester, please fill out the survey below to let us know how you would like to celebrate your accomplishments!
We have the following options:
- Virtual Achievement Ceremony
- The ceremony will be held over Zoom on December 10 (Reading Day) at 5PM EST. Each graduating senior will be virtually acknowledged at this event and there will be an honorary guest speaker. Friends and family are more than welcome to join the Zoom to celebrate your accomplishments with you!
- Video Montage
- Each interested graduate would send in a photo of themselves as well as a quote (we will have prompts for you to pick and answer) and the ACEC will compile those videos together into one video and have it uploaded onto the ACEC's YouTube Channel for public viewing.
- Here is the video we made last Spring: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8d78uY8Pso&t=4s
Each graduating senior will receive a cord and certificate, regardless of which option is chosen. The ACEC will schedule dates/times for seniors in Blacksburg to stop by and pick up their cord and certificate. If you are not able to or desire not to pick up the items, the ACEC will mail the cord/certificate to you.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to Dr. Nina Ha at nha@vt.edu!
