I was deep into my transition from Teach For India, an institution I spent fourteen years of my life with. I had, along the way, built communities of support and friendship that continue to be rooted in love and respect. They’re also rooted in a shared mission to build a better India. And so, as you might imagine, my first few months at The Circle India were a little bit lonely. I was playing many roles and mobilizing friends and supporters for all the help I could find. And then, quite rapidly, we began forming this incredible team of people. We had all gathered, for our first ever team retreat, at Avasara Academy - an institution we continue to be deeply inspired by. We spent days envisioning our shared journey, learning from examples of change, and cultivating the relationships needed to go down this path together. And we paused, at the end, to capture the mixture of awe, joy, and seemingly recent togetherness we had all discovered. These amazing leaders - who collectively form this small founding team - are some of the most insane, hardworking, smartest leaders I know. They’re also just really good human beings. And, most of all, they’re obsessively committed to reinventing our country’s schools. We’re looking to expand that team with two roles, based in Mumbai, that are exciting and impactful: a senior manager and an associate for the incubation, who will empower entrepreneurs to launch their own schools.
