La pilosité est plus dense, le poil plus dru et plus pigmenté que dans l'hypertrichose [...] L'hirsutisme est l'un des caractères typiques du syndrome de Cushing et du syndrome d'Apert, et constitue une manifestation du cortico-surrénalisme, induit ou non.
