Kia ora kotou,

You’ll notice there is something different about our July Update – it’s had a makeover and so has the IANZ brand.

This journey began two years ago, when we embarked on a brand exploration to answer three key questions: Who is IANZ? What do we do? Why does it matter?

We began this work because our client satisfaction surveys told us there was a lack of awareness about accreditation and that our clients wanted us to do more to promote its value. At the same time, our staff survey told us that our people love what they do, but wish that the rest of the country knew who they worked for and how what they do is part of a vitally important system of accreditation that’s protecting the health and wealth of New Zealand.

Following this feedback we took a critical look at our brand and came up with a strategy that would give us the foundation and tools we needed to start telling New Zealanders that we exist and why we matter. Earlier this year, we shared the answers to those three key questions with our clients, along with our new logo and reinvigorated brand. The next step, was to equip them with the tools they needed to start sharing our new brand to the world at large, then COVID -19 arrived, and we had to pause.

Today, we are delighted to have reached the final stage in our brand journey. We are immensely proud of our new visual identity and believe it will help us to tell our story. We have a great story to share with the people of New Zealand and our clients are a huge part of it.

One of the ways we are doing this, is by developing video case studies in partnership with our clients. The first of these, you can view in this update. Also included is our brand story, which answers those three key questions clearly and powerfully.

If you have time, we also encourage you to visit our new website www.ianz.govt.nz

Thank you to everyone, from our people and council, to our clients and suppliers, for helping us bring our new brand to life. We believe we now have a brand that feels ‘more like us’ and we hope you agree.

Nga Mihi

How we’re helping ‘liquid gold’ spread around the world.

Which product is one of the most attractive for fraudsters right now? Honey. Or more specifically, mānuka honey. This Kiwi “liquid gold” is so hot right now, it requires Government protection.

New Zealand Mānuka honey’s sweet success, is attracting calculated fraudsters around the world, keen to cash in on the global appetite for the premium product. Honey fraud, where a product either adulterated or misrepresented to resemble thing, is a risk not only to our country’s export reputation, but 80% of $242m export revenue from honey.

So how does a Kiwi honey producer prove that their product is the real thing? Click below to find out.
