'You heard us fighting?' asks Muhyiddin regarding claims of fued with Hamzah

KUALA LUMPUR: There is no bad blood between himself and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin on the party’s direction, says Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

Muhyiddin, who is also Bersatu president and Perikatan Nasional chairman, dismissed the claims by saying it was a political game by irresponsible parties.

“This is similar to what happened involving the Bersatu vice-president and Perikatan information chief, it's like they do not have any ammunition.

“They want to pit us against each other when in fact we are in harmony between the component parties. PAS, Bersatu and Gerakan have no issues at all, no crisis and are stable.

“You heard us fighting? When did I fight with Datuk Hamzah? It was all made up, don’t believe the news,” he said in a press conference at the Perikatan headquarters here on Thursday (June 22).

Also present were PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang and Gerakan president Datuk Dominic Lau.

A news portal had reported that Hamzah and Muhyiddin were at odds over Bersatu's direction.

It also reported that Hamzah will be replaced by Perikatan chief whip Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan as the Opposition leader.

Muhyiddin said the speculation was a “psy-war” (psychological warfare) move by cyber troopers, claiming they were from Pakatan Harapan’s side.

“This was a move by them using social media to distract the people from matters that could not be solved by them,” he claimed.
