I believe that what you have written isn't given enough attention it deserves! Viewing resources as limited and competitive rather than abundant and collaborative hinders partnerships and community development. It fosters mistrust and competition, leading to fractured relationships and hindered collaboration. This zero-sum mentality stifles cooperation, preventing parties from recognizing shared success and mutual benefit. A scarcity mindset restricts creativity and innovation, focusing on immediate needs rather than long-term solutions. Fragmented efforts result from individual agendas, diminishing the overall effectiveness of community/business development initiatives. Opportunities for collaboration and partnership are often overlooked, as individuals and organizations fixate on scarcity, missing the abundance of resources available for collective growth and impact. It is our responsibility to elevate ourselves from this scarcity mindset and embrace the abundance mindset because the sky is big enough for all of us to fly as high as we wish! 🦅 🦅

Ambitious project: inventing the #cities of tomorrow at #school 🏘️ ‘Building Sustainable, Learning and Inclusive Cities (SLICKS)’ project is a collaborative effort between the cities of #Kampala and a French city, funded by Agence française de développement in Eastern Africa It highlights the importance of international educational exchange as a means to address pressing global challenges and cultivate an open-minded international society, especially in countries with a increased young population as in #Uganda From France to Uganda, cities encounter similar challenges, including pollution and the lack of green spaces. These are also two main priorities of this technical and political cooperation between both countries, that starts in September 2022 for a duration of 28 months. By promoting literacy, the foundation contributes to building bridges among the youth, fostering a shared understanding of their cultural heritage and that of others. This approach aligns seamlessly with the broader narrative of how education, coupled with cultural preservation, can strengthen the fabric of communities. Before Swechya M. joined NIRAS, she had been searching for a development-driven company that encouraged a dynamic, decisive and dedicated environment, one that focussed on implementing solutions to communities in need. 👨👩👦👦 When she joined NIRAS as a business development manager at the Nepal office, she knew her search stopped there. “The work I am involved in today may seem small and basic in some contexts – like securing access to clean water or capital for smallholder farmers – but it’s about the big picture of uplifting others,” Swechya says. 🤲🏽 NIRAS Nepal’s core projects are CASA Programme and SUSWA, whose primary objectives are to empower smallholder farmers and improve water services and infrastructure for locals, respectively. Both have been, and remain to be, incredibly active. 🌾💧 But a fast-paced environment is exactly what sparks Swechya’s continued passion for her job, especially because it means good work is being done for project participants.
