It’s a sad thing that acts of political bravery are so rare these days, but that makes it all the more important to recognize them when they happen.

So let’s pause to appreciate how much courage it took, along with legislative skill, for House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) to defy the hard-liner bullies of his own party and put forward the $95 billion package of foreign aid for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan that passed the House on Saturday.
