#teamworkmakesthedreamwork cliche, I know....but isn't it so true? When multiple capable minds and bodies are working in tandem, like your left hand works with the right hand, so much more can be accomplished. Last week, I discussed the UGA football team's culture and how it has generated consecutive successful seasons, two of which that resulted in national championships. Digging into that culture a little bit further, what is it at its rawest form that sits at the core, the foundation.....TEAM. You see, there is a clear understanding that it is more than oneself, that there is no way to achieve the ultimate goal of a championship with a single minded, selfish approach. There must be total buy in from each player that everything they do, on and off the field, is for their brothers that are part of the team. Each player has an assignment on any given play that when executed, the result speaks for itself. Some assignments are tougher than others....you may have to take on a double team block, or a lineman may have to sprint downfield to spring a screen pass...no matter the assignment, the team comes first. How can I support my team better? How can I put others' needs before my own? In your organization, does the left hand work in tandem with the right hand? How much more could be accomplished if there was a common goal and mentality....TEAM. #CultureWins.....I'm a big Georgia Bulldogs fan. Through the CFP selection and madness of the transfer portal, along with opt-outs for bowl games, I've noticed the importance of having a great culture. Now, this isn't to bash any other team/program, but pointing out that it is evident the University of Georgia football program has a winning & successful culture. So, it has me pondering the culture we have here at AV-Tech and how am I making an impact to that culture as a person in leadership. Several NFL bound players for UGA made the decision to play one more game with their teammates who have been on the journey, working hard each day since Spring football. As I think about this in my work, I'm reminded that we all face decisions....decisions to quit, decisions to give 50% effort, decisions to push a task to someone else. I must be a person/co-worker who is in the fight, giving my 100% effort at all times, completing the tasks that I'm responsible and even looking to see how I can assist with someone else who may could use a helping hand. I am one person, but if we all take this mindset, could you imagine the culture that would be developed in our workplace, and even our communities? The daily grind is tough, no denying that. It's easy to do things on the surface, getting by with the minimum. Can I challenge you to dig a little deeper? Work a little harder? Consider the unknown, or maybe even consider the known areas you could bring a burst of energy that propels someone else forward or even to take the same approach? Lounsbrough I’m a big fan of “attention to detail.” In what we do, attention to detail can make the difference in success and failure. This year, the team was challenged in many ways. With new/unique projects, with long/expansive projects, with quick hitters, but repetitious projects. We also were challenged with projects, like any good integrator, where things went sideways due to various reasons and the team was forced to dig our cleats in, come together by putting our best foot forward & working together by having each other’s back, and pushing forward until the job was done. Attention to detail was at play in each and all of these projects, separating success from failure. It is because of this attention to detail that AV-Tech has created long-lasting, impactful and successful client relationships (the great things). 2023 presented its challenges, and so will 2024; by patiently and persistently expanding ourselves though, I believe we will continue to strengthen our current relationships and also win the hearts of new customers. The team recently completed a beautiful project in Battery Park for one of our clients. A very successful project, our team was able to deliver full functionality in all spaces for Day 1, enabling our client to move into their new space and hit the ground running. The showpiece of the space is the Break Area that overlooks the Battery and has a view of Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves; the AV system designed for this space includes a projection screen and flanking ceiling mounted displays, each capable of receiving various sources; as well as ceiling speakers for audio and RF microphones for voice lift and audio conferencing. A simple, but elegant Boardroom, boasts dual 98" displays and an MTR system for one-touch dialing using external audio of ceiling speakers and microphones. MTR systems were also deployed in all Private Offices, along with Collaboration Rooms. I'm proud of our team for the preparedness, responsiveness and commitment to the greater project team. It was a great project to be part of as all involved from the client rep, architect, GC, etc. were all focused on providing a great result for our client. #PlanandPrep are fundamental steps to a successful new buildout for AV systems. While this seems like a no-brainer, these steps are unfortunately missed on many projects. It is critical that we talk through the necessary infrastructure that will allow AV cabling and equipment to be installed in congested ceilings with special finishes. For this large project in midtown Atlanta, there needed to be anchor points, conduit, junction boxes, etc. in the ceiling prior to the tectum ceiling being installed so the undesirable components could be "hidden" above and the actual product have attachment points below the ceiling. Many external conversations go into this level of planning, as well as our internal conversations regarding the preparation. Another phase in a new buildout is the #prewire where sometimes we need to pull cable from a headend closet out to the field/room. Again, this takes planning and preparation, ensuring we have pathways established, necessary infrastructure installed and coordinated alignment with other trades who also have cable being pulled for systems such as network, fire/safety, lighting, etc. Our team has done a tremendous job staying engaged from an early start in the project process so these intricate details are well coordinated. #BreadandButter.....many of our clients have needed various rooms upgraded to accommodate the requirements for video conferencing. While these types of rooms have been a typical specification in years past, our team is outfitting these types of rooms on a more regular basis. The interesting part to AV though is no room is the same. Yet, our install team works through the various challenges from client space to client space, room to room, to deliver a fantastic product. While a fairly simple design, several components need to be integrated for functionality. Our field team takes pride in mapping things out so even to the "common eye" there is tidiness and a known aspect of professionalism. Here is another project we completed in Q4 2022. This project was located in the Battery next to Truist Park, so you know I was excited for this opportunity! Our team faced several challenges with this buildout due to the architectural design and unique tenant space, but in the end this project resulted in a beautiful and modern office space. For AV scope, we outfitted a Large Client Conference Room, several Project Rooms, a few Huddle spaces and some Private Offices. Most systems have conferencing capabilities either via a hardwired solution or wireless solution. A simple AV design, but executed perfectly, the team did a tremendous job delivering a fabulous end product for our client. In Q4 2022, we completed the first phase of a Restack project; this phase consisted of 4 floors with various room types from Large Conference Rooms to Small Project Rooms and Private Offices. The team was up against an aggressive project schedule, but delivered a terrific end product that met FDOB for each floor's opening date. We are currently in the midst of phase two of the project and the team is delivering the same quality of workmanship; the efforts from our guys in the field is second to none and it shows with how well they are taking care of our client. #teamwork #avsolutions #takingcareofbusiness #deliveringquality

#dailythoughts We must express value to our employees: emotionally, tangibly, monetarily, etc. Let's face it, everyone likes to receive praise, especially when praise is due. Some folks need praise more regularly than others, but every employee still needs to know they are valued. A simple "atta way" goes a long way. For jobs well done, special public recognition are a great way to acknowledge people. Then there are tangible and monetary awards to really emphasize your appreciation for the efforts that have gone into their work. Who are you passing over? Who needs a shoutout to give them the assurance you value them? Who deserves a tangible expression that proclaims the praise they have earned? This deeper connection allows trust to develop, doors to open and simply creates joy. What kind of relationship do you have with you co-workers?
