Our May class is about tequila: its origins and how it came to America. We'll make three tequila cocktails. Unknown to the first cadre of 19th-century professional mixologists, learn how Prohibition brought attention to this mainstay spirit of every back bar in today's drinking dens.
Hear the story of tequila's contribution to cocktail culture while Hogwash Whiskey Den's master mixologist, Simon Moorby, guides you through making three cocktails. Your mixology lessons include the techniques and correct use of the barkeep's tools and techniques, and Raising the Bar's resident historian, Renée, shares how these drinks shaped 20th-century drinking culture.
