Nov 28th- Josh-e-Umang presents 'Hear Us: The Role of Women in Classical Indian Music ' with Caroline Rohm and Balázs Virágh. Caroline Rohm is a current U.S. Fulbright Research Scholar, a Ph.D. candidate in Ethnomusicology at the University of Texas at Austin, and student of dhrupad. For the past seven months she conducted research in India on the life and work of female instrumentalists in Hindustani classical music. As a student of dhrupad, she has learned from the Rudra Veena artist Madhuvanti Pal for the past three years. She is accompanied by Balázs Virágh who is a prominent Pakhawaj player.
