Zagato IsoRivolta Vision GT: A Digital Revival of Italian Grand Touring

Digital Reverence - Since 2013, Polyphony Digital, the renowned game developer behind the Gran Turismo series, has been running the innovative Vision Gran Turismo program. This initiative invites automotive manufacturers and design houses to create visionary concept cars, which are then digitally rendered and featured in Gran Turismo Sport on the PlayStation platform

Many of these designs have also been showcased as full-scale models at prestigious auto shows, including stunning contributions from Bugatti and Alpine.

In September 2017, the legendary Italian design house Zagato joined the Vision Gran Turismo project with their own breathtaking concept: the Zagato IsoRivolta Vision Gran Turismo Concept. Officially unveiled in digital form in October 2017 within Gran Turismo Sport, this car pays homage to the iconic Iso Rivolta GTa grand tourer from the early 1960s

However, while the original GT was front-engined, Zagato's Vision GT version boldly features a mid-engine layout, underlining a modern reinterpretation of its lineage. Presented by Andrea Zagato, CEO of Zagato, the concept was not just a flight of fantasy.

As he explained during its debut, even though the Vision Gran Turismo exists within a video game, the design process is no less rigorous and can directly influence real-world car development. Zagato even hinted at a possible "hardcore version" of the concept in the future.

As for performance, the Zagato IsoRivolta Vision Gran Turismo is a beast. It’s powered by a 6.2-liter V8 Callaway Corvette engine, delivering an astounding 997 horsepower to the rear wheels. This results in incredible performance figures: Top speed: 365 km/h (227 mph); 0–100 km/h: just 2.7 seconds; Weight: 1,129 kg (2,489 lbs); Transmission: 10-speed sequential gearbox.
Though it will never see mass production, players can experience the thrill of driving the Zagato IsoRivolta Vision Gran Turismo virtually, exclusively on Gran Turismo Sport for PlayStation 4. (Next: 2018 Aria FXE, Genesis Essentia Concept, Tachyon Speed and Toyota GR Super Sports Concept). *** [EKA [06082018] | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | CARGUIDE | GTPLANET | MOTOR AUTHORITY | ISORIVOLTA ]
