College Women’s Club Raises Teacups to 100 Years of Service

First published in the Dec. 16 print issue of the Pasadena Outlook.

The College Women’s Club of Pasadena recently gathered to celebrate 100 years of service with a Centennial Tea at the Altadena Town and Country Club.
With more than 90 guests and dignitaries in attendance, the star of the event was the premiere of their new video, “College Women’s Club of Pasadena — 100 years of Dedication to Women and Education.”
After spending a year of COVID and delving into 100 years’ worth of photos and handwritten minutes retrieved from the archives of the Pasadena Historical Society for the video, it was quite a story to tell.
A table dedicated to archives, a professional photographer present to document each guests’ chance to dress up and go out on the town, gift bags and door prizes made the event one to remember.
CWC celebrated its many years of scholarship and fellowship awards with its partners at the Pasadena Community Foundation, who helped its endowment grow from $100 in 1921 to more than $2 million.
Guests present included members and dignitaries from local colleges and universities who participated in the scholarship program. The event was emceed by President Rozanne Child. CWC is actively seeking new members.
