IPOH: All Perak assemblymen will be receiving special financial aid from the state government, says Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.

The Perak Mentri Besar said 48 state assemblymen and the State Speaker, excluding him and the 10 state executive council members, will each receive one month's salary as their special financial aid.

“We have agreed to give the aid as a reward to the state assemblymen.

“We have also agreed to continue the RM7,000 monthly allocation to all assemblymen's service centers, which can be used to pay their special officer's allowances, rental, and utility bills,” he said in his winding-up speech at the state assembly sitting here on Thursday (Dec 7).

Three Opposition assemblymen, including state Opposition leader Razman Zakaria (PN-Gunung Semanggol), Akmal Kamarudin (PN-Selama) and Noor Azman Ghazali (PN-Alor Pongsu) thanked Saarani at the sitting.

On Friday (Dec 1), Saarani announced a special financial aid of two months’ salary to all civil servants under the state administration, which includes state exco members, state-appointed teachers, Orang Besar Jajahan, and daily part-time workers.

Perak has 59 assemblymen, which comprises 24 from Pakatan Harapan, nine from Barisan Nasional, and the remaining 26 from Perikatan Nasional.
