Cady Blackwell is a victim of her own bad judgment: dating the biggest losers, attracting a stalker, and unknowingly accepting a job that's gotta be illegal. She can't quit until she finds a way to protect herself from being framed for her bosses' crimes, plus she wants to stay alive and out of prison. But nothing's easy when she's distracted by a charming financier and a f-boy detective. She's in way over her head, and she's fighting for her life. Her only chance for survival is to put her faith in the instincts she stopped trusting long ago. It's time to go for broke, which will either save her or cost her everything.⁣⁣

I really enjoyed the character, Cady. I felt that I was able to connect with her due to my anxiety and obsession with true crime. I felt the story moved at a good pace and appreciated the balance between the crime portion and the romance. ⁣⁣

This is my first time reading this author’s books. I got mixed up some in the beginning of the book, but as I got farther along I knew what was happening. It really got thrilling in some places where I couldn’t wait to find out what would happen next. Zack and Cady met once and had a one night stand. I can’t imagine how she felt when he never called and gave her a fake number, especially since he rocked her world. You could tell she was mad after the shock of seeing him again and finding he was suppose to tail her and keep her safe. Cady was very resourceful and found Daniel who was a reporter and wrote some great blogs about finding a murderer and rapist to free his brother. I can’t imagine how scared Cady was by getting mean calls and someone doing things in her yard. Cady hears from friends that know Zack that he never goes out with someone twice. I am sure Cady felt bad because she knew he would never see her again, except for his job of keeping her safe. There are some exciting things that happened that kept me on the edge of my seat. I encourage you to read the book if you like suspenseful romance books. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.

Nothing is going right in Cady’s life at the moment- her love life is none existent, her job is horrible and she’s got a stalker. Talk about having the deck stacked against you making you question everything in your life. On a whim, Cady emails a local reporter, Daniel, to ask questions about her stalker and a case he’s reported on. Unbeknownst to them, they set into motion a series of events that put not only them but a lot of other people at risk. Zack is a local investigator and friend of Daniel so when Daniel asks him to check out this person he’s meeting he agrees. What surprises him is the person because it’s someone he knows; it’s the woman he can’t stop thinking about and it’s Cady. Can Zack stay focused on his job or will he be too busy focusing on Cady? Has too much happened in Cady’s life that she no longer trusts her own instincts or will Zack change everything?

Go For Broke is a steamy and engaging story between Cady and Zack. Their chemistry is undeniable and once they get past those few hurdles, their vulnerability with each other is refreshing. They compliment each other and work so well together. Solving the mystery of Cady’s stalker and Daniel’s case really tested both Cady and Zack individually and together. Cady’s confidence grew so much and she finally found something meaningful to her and having Zack’s support mattered so much. This story is a quick read and I hope we get more from Cady and Zack in the future!

For some reason I didn't remember reading the blurb for this book and was in for a complete shock when I was expecting a romantic comedy and ended up with a romantic suspense. However, I absolutely love books with serial killers in them so this was a wonderful surprise!

The serial killer plot line in this book was amazing! I loved how the book handled the discovering the killer and the suspense of the scenes once the killer catches up to Cady and Zack!

Cady and Zack are super cute and I loved how their relationship developed. It felt super real and normal, without the usual flair of a romance novel. Zack not wanting commitment and working through those feelings was fun and entertaining!

My only complaint was that Zack and Cady were a little to lovey dovey in all of the conversations after getting together but it also felt real and normal for a couple after getting together so I still gave the book 5 stars

Wow, what a great read! Go For Broke combines your romance, second chances, murder mystery to the extreme, and don't forget the suspense at every turn. Cady is trying to get back to a normal way of life, but with a stalker and finding a new job, things take a turn that never seems to turn around for her. Cady reaches out to Daniel, which sets off a chain reaction that will have you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens with everything. Zack is a private detective and ends up meeting Cady, again. Cady and Zack constantly dance around each other and the chemistry is insanely hard to ignore. Cady is determine to figure things out and survive all that has been thrown at her and hopefully that means her and Zack figure things out. Don't miss out on Go For Broke, it gives you a bit of everything.

There's a lot going on with this story. Cady is dealing with shady bosses, creepy phone calls, and this mix of suspense that has her investigating these issues. Zack was a one night stand that shows back up in her life and there was a lot of back and forth between then. With so much outside of them going on I couldn't connect with the characters as well I'd have liked. There is good suspense, the heart of the mystery kept my attention. I would have liked to have a bit more focus on one issue, as the work thing just seemed like an odd filler.

I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

I really enjoyed Go For Broke by Daisy Knox. Cady has a stalker and she’s determined to catch whom ever it is. She’s just not sure who she can trust. She contacts a local reporter, Daniel, to ask questions about her stalker; and this leads to a chain of events happening and Daniel having to call his friend Zack, a local investigator, for help. I really liked Zack’s character and him and Cady were a perfect match. This was a quick and entertaining read and I look forward to reading more by this author.

I was provided a copy of this book and this is my honest review.

I never read anything from Daisy Knox so this was my first one. I liked this one though! From steamy romance scenes to terrifying situations. Psychological stalker stories have never held an interest to me, but I'm glad I read this story! Bravo!

I thoroughly enjoyed Go for Broke, the debut romantic thriller by Daisy Knox. Who does not love a romantic thriller with a happily ever after ending? Daisy Knox is a wonderful storyteller. I love how she developed the story line and the characters. I love how Daisy Knox incorporated the name of the book into the story with a simple phrase by Zack. My favorite part of the story is that it is set in Pittsburgh, and as a Pittsburgher, I loved reading the references to my hometown. I love that she wrote Go for Broke in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting inside their minds and knowing their thoughts and how they really feel. Go for Broke is the story of Cadence “Cady” Blackwell, office worker at a construction company and Zack Strozzi, private investigator. Cady reaches out to Daniel Abbott for assistance with crank calls she is getting. Shortly thereafter, Daniel realizes that his computer was hacked and is concerned that he has put Cady’s life in jeopardy. Daniel is trying to prove that his brother, Brandon, who is in jail for the murder of Grace, Brandon’s wife and several other victims. Daniel is trying to prove his brother’s innocence. Daniel asks Zack to follow Cady to keep her safe. Cady corners Zack as he follows her and she realizes that he is the one-night stand who ghosted her earlier. Zack and Cady review case files from cases similar to Daniel’s brother’s case. As Zack and Cady continue to spend time together, they each realize that they have feelings for one another. They also deduce who might be behind the recent murders and rapes in the area, which have similar findings to the other cases they were investigating. A plot twists changes things for Zack and Cady and puts their lives in danger. I did not enjoy knowing the identity of the perpetrator so early in the story. I prefer to be surprised by their identity. I also felt the story was a slow build, and that it moved very slowly, it was more about the romance between Zack and Cady, than finding the whereabouts of the perpetrators. I prefer that my romantic thrillers be more thriller with some romance. All is all was a good story, hopefully with more experience, Daisy Knox will be able to create more drama more quickly. I enjoyed the ending and how Zack and Cady get their happily ever after. I recommend Go for Broke if you love a romance with some thriller mixed into the story.

Can’t wait to read more from this author! Cady has the worst luck in the world – not only does she have a stalked and nobody takes her seriously, but her employer is doing illegal things and has the potential to frame her. Fed up, she starts to investigate things and finds that someone has linked her stalker to a serial killer, and determined to not be murdered, she meets with this person to get more information. Skeptical of everything and not knowing who to trust, she finds that Zack, someone she dated in the past, is tasked with checking up on her and making sure she is alive. With both Cady and Zack working together with the person who has linked the previous murders together, they realize that his computer had been hacked and nobody was safe. This book was originally a little all over the place for me – when I started reading, I was very confused, and I was hoping it got better as I continued reading. The best part of this book for me was the accuracy in the Pittsburgh parts within the story, especially being born and raised in the city. While most authors just name the city, this author named neighborhoods and other specifics that really added another level to this book. I would be interested in reading more from this author, as the plot itself was great.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Daisy Knox is a tease. And Go for Broke is the biggest tease of all—and that’s good. Written in first person, present tense, the teasing is immediate and deliciously in-your-face.

It’s not just the way she teases out the danger swirling around her like a cyclone of impending doom. It’s the way she metes out the foreplay in agonizing surges. After the innuendos, after the intense flirtation, after hot lips nearly brushing, our heroine, Cady, admits, “A breathy little moan escapes me when his body melds to mine. I’ve never made that sound before in my life.” And the reader thinks, “Okay, here it comes.” But it doesn’t, not until two torturous chapters later, and by then the reader is as ravenous as are Cady and our hero, Zack.

But the anticipation doesn’t end there. Even after steamy sex—no, “steamy” is too weak; make it “scalding”—Cady has the chutzpah to think, “The man is going to destroy my heart, but I couldn’t stay away if my life depended on it.” What the hell does that mean? Surely, they'll remain a couple. Or will they? Hmm.

Just in case you're wondering, Cady is no timorous wallflower. She’s strong-willed and sassy. Even though the story is set in Pittsburg, her backtalk is reminiscent of a long-haul trucker from Brooklyn. Her outlandish moxie slays me.

And, if all that were not enough, there’s a killer on the prowl—and no one’s serenity is safe, not even the reader’s.

This book was intense!!!! I enjoyed how I felt like I was part of a crime investigation through the whole thing while also falling in love with the characters.

Cady was such a sweet character and I couldn’t imagine being in her shoes while feeling like you are constantly being watched.

Zack is such an amazing boyfriend always protecting her and doing everything he can to make sure she is safe. I also love how he brought her into the fold of his friends to protect her even further.

This story has a great plot line, it can be kinda hard to follow at times because there was so much going on at once but it wasn’t terrible.

I love the sass Cady dishes out in this debut novel by Daisy Knox, especially where Zach is concerned. When the two are thrown together following a series of threats directed at Cady, things heat up. There is history between them and not all of it is good.
A serial killer is on the loose and complicating things all the way around for Cady. Between the threats from a potential stalker and the sketchy business practices of her current employer this girl needs to blow off some steam. If she can convince Zach to help her relieve some of her stress, maybe she can get him out of her system.
If you enjoy a well-paced romantic suspense novel with an unexpected twist, then this is a must read.

I received an E-ARC copy of ‘Go For Broke’ by Daisy Knox in return for my honest review. Thank you to Grey’s Promotions for my copy.

This book follows the main character Cady Blackwell, who is working in an office job which she believes maybe involved in illegal activity. She is unlucky in love and has given up on dating.

Unsettling events seem to start happening around her home making Cady feel like she may have a stalker, she decides to take action and investigate.

Soon she becomes entangled with two admirers, a successful businessman and a stranger from her past.

Her investigation leads to an intense search for the possible suspect, and she must push through her anxieties and trust her instincts to save her own life. One thing is for certain her life is going to change forever, but how?

I have never read a book like this before, which mixes ‘steamy’ romance with a thriller suspense in one book. I will have to look for more like this as I did enjoy having both elements together.

I felt that Cady is a really strong female character, and it also showed that even if you have anxiety, it doesn’t mean that you can’t be confident in other ways. I was shocked at some of her comments but then I was also smiling as it was brilliant, and she had great timing.

I loved the romance side of this book too, as I said it is quite ‘steamy’ in places, but I loved the storyline and how this developed. I’m trying not to give too much away, so I will mention no names.

Overall, a steamy romance suspense book which shows that sometimes you should go with your instincts.

Cady is sweet and seems to have everything going wrong in her life, with a job she hates, having sworn of dating, and acquiring a stalker. Cady contacts a local reporter Daniel about her stalker situation, and he asks a friend Zack who is an investigator, to check out Cady, who he knows. With Zack’s help and support, Cady grows in confidence, and the chemistry between them is undeniable, and they complement each other perfectly. This is a good story which is filled with emotions, mystery, trust, and is an entertaining and steamy page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I recommend.

As always, I would like to first thank Grey's Promotions for my Advance Copy in exchange for my honest review.

If you are confused by the range of reviews for this book, there is a reason. As hard as I tried to like Go For Broke by Daisy Knox, I just couldn't for a multitude of reasons. The plot developed so slowly that it took three chapters and over 20% of the book to get any kind of grasp of what was going on. There were too many points of view and too many subplots to be able to even guess how the book was going to progress. The character development just isn't there and, therefore, I could not relate to them. Though I usually like reading from multiple viewpoints, Go For Broke just didn't get it right. I feel Go For Broke would have benefited from some further development to make it easier to follow and have a better grab at the beginning to get me interested in finishing. I did finish Go For Broke, though it was a major challenge.
I will say there were some great ideas that would make for an incredible read with more work put into it... The characters have some great traits. Cady- the girl who attracts all the bad in life- job with very possible illegal acts that look to be pinned on her, the non-existent love life, and the stalker. Zach- the play boy one night stand who returns to Cady's life as the detective investigating her stalker and is now responsible for keeping her safe. Daniel- the blogger who's been researching a strain of recent murders by killer that seems to match up with the details of Cady's stalker and Zach's best friend. The suspense of ridding Cady of her stalker who appears to be on a murdering spree, keeping her from being framed for the illegal acts of her boss, and Cady kindling a blossoming romance with her one night stand that she can't get out of her mind could make for an excellent book if they were each developed more in depth. Bottom line... I feel Go For Broke was just not fully developed and needed more time and effort prior to publishing.

However, I do realize this was Daisy Knox's debut book into the romantic suspense genre. I hope she will take the criticism and use it to grow to give us some much better options in the future. Who knows? Maybe we'll see a "New and Improved" edition of Go For Broke someday soon!

Thanks to the publisher for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Unfortunately, I could not get into this book. Usually books of this genre grab me right away but not this one. I struggled to find the chemistry between the couple and the mystery seemed a little contrived.

If you are looking for graphic descriptions of sexual situations this might be the book for you but I did not finish it.
