Over
a decade ago, Kenya's philanthropic landscape was characterized by a multitude
of entities operating in silos. Despite their individual contributions to
societal welfare, the lack of a cohesive approach limited their overall impact.
This fragmentation led to the realization that a unified platform was necessary
to consolidate these efforts and maximize their effectiveness. Consequently,
key players in the philanthropic sector established the Kenya Philanthropy
Forum. This initiative by the
Kenya Philanthropy Forum was not solely focused on congregating various
philanthropic actors under one umbrella. It was, more importantly, about fostering
a synergistic approach to philanthropy, where the collective impact could
significantly surpass the sum of individual contributions.
The forum operates as a collective space that unites philanthropic institutions and individuals for interactive sharing and collaborative engagement, promoting philanthropy as a pivotal contributor to Kenya's development. It seeks to amplify the philanthropy sector's role and recognition within the national agenda for development.
Vision: To be a leading, cohesive, and influential assembly where Kenyan philanthropists can unite for a shared purpose.
Mission: To effectively collaborate by pooling resources, expertise, and best practices, with the aim of catalyzing human transformation and enhancing life quality across Kenya.
