📚Celebrating the history of education, happy International Day of Education! 💡The history of education dates to the first millennium BCE, where ancient age civilizations took the first steps in education. Economic and social inequalities were notably prevalent during the early stages of education in this era, only a few fortunate people had access to education. In the present era, new educational systems have emerged, with some striving to foster equal opportunities regardless of gender, ethnicity, or socioeconomic background. Nonetheless, significant efforts are still required to address the ongoing challenges in achieving full social inclusion. 🔙Over the last 50 years, collective efforts have been invested in addressing educational inequalities. NGOs, institutions, organisations and social movements have actively participated in promoting and driving forward this positive change. From EVTA we join forces with fellow advocates for change, taking pride in our contribution to initiatives like DIG.I.T.ABLE, Tutor Project, or MoVET - Mobility for VET in Europe. Together, we work towards making education accessible and inclusive for all, especially in the field of Vocational and Educational Training. 📅On this special occasion, the International Education Day, we want to take this opportunity to thank and congratulate the entire educational community. Your collective efforts are instrumental in fostering a more equal and diverse educational experience for everyone. Today we take a big leap in campus Hub at SdgsAct Buk The SDGs ACT Africa was the first NGO in Nigeria to launch and establish a dedicated SDGs Club in Nigerian universities. This journey started in 2017 when I designed the SDGs Campus Club model for our organization as the Director of Programs. Since 2018 we have trained hundreds of students to become global citizens in the following universities; 1. Lagos State University (LASU) Ojo, Lagos state 2. Lagos State College of Medicine (LASUCOM) Ikeja, Lagos state 3. University of Lagos (UNILAG) Akoka, Lagos state 4. Federal University of Technology (FUTA) Akure, Ondo state 5. Federal University of Agriculture (FUNAAB) Abeokuta, Ogun state 6. Ambrose Ali University (AAU) Ekpoma, Edo state 7. Federal University (FUOYE) Oye, Ekiti state and 8. Bingham University, (BU) Jos, Plateau state. 9. Bayero University, Kano In January 2023 we launched the BUK campus club with Our Mission To contribute to the improvement of the quality of life for young people in cities and communities by equipping them with the right knowledge and skills to take action for the future we want in localizing the SDGs in Nigeria. Our Vision We envision seeing empowered youths in cities and communities with improved knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development to become global citizens. Today through collaboration with the SDGs Students Hub and other partners we officially flag off the club after it was postponed last year. Our Goal The project aims to empower the youths to become global advocates through the creation of SDGs hubs at university campuses, SDGs awareness at schools, and communities’ outreaches where they can learn to collaborate, build trust with empathy to become responsible citizens and ensure they are well equipped with the right knowledge and skills to take action for the future we want in localizing the SDGs in Nigeria. Our SDGs Focus SDGs 4.7: by 2030 ensure all learners acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development, including among others education for sustainable development and sustainable lifestyles, human rights, gender equality, promotion of a culture of peace and non-violence, global citizenship, and appreciation of cultural diversity and culture’s contribution to sustainable development. I hereby call on students, members of communities in Kano State to support the implementation of this project in our beloved state. Kindly join the live event going on right now. God bless Nigeria. #LeavingNoOneBehind #sdgs2030 #SDGsAdvocate

I firmly believe that introducing coding education in underserved, rural, and remote communities holds immense potential to enhance the quality of education and broaden access for all students. As part of this belief, I actively organize visits to schools in these areas with a dual purpose: to both learn from the communities and raise awareness among students about the adverse effects of dropping out of school. During these visits, I facilitate workshops and competitions aimed at fostering engagement and knowledge. The culmination of these events is a celebration where all participants receive gifts, and winners are honored with certificates. This not only provides an avenue for expression but also serves as motivation for these students to persevere in their education despite the challenges they face. Regrettably, children in rural areas often miss out on the typical joys of childhood and the opportunity to attend school due to early responsibilities. Boys are tasked with strenuous labor in the fields, while girls are frequently employed as domestic workers in urban households by their parents. Our initiatives aim to address these disparities by instilling the values of sustainability and digital citizenship, encouraging responsible and innovative use of technology. By empowering today's students, we aspire to nurture them as the future superheroes of their communities, equipped with the skills and mindset to effect positive change ..... #EducationsInFocus #GlobalSchoolsProgram #ESD #GlobalSchoolsAdvocates #SDG4 #TheWorldsLesson #TransformingEducation #ClimateActionEdu #TeachSDGs UNESCO Jack Davies Dave Potter Koen Timmers, FRSA #AKS #AKS2022 #aksawards #GEA2022 #GlobalTeacherAward #dubaiawards #akseducationawards #globaleducationawards2022 Teach For All EducationAwards ISTE SCRATCH #GlobalEducationAwardsDubai AKS EDUCATION AWARDS #students #culture #education #school #teachers #classrooms, Social-emotional #learning (#SEL) #LEGOeducation #LearningThroughPlay

Done with International Model United Nations (IMUN) conference held virtually from 23-24 December 2023. Collaborating with young leaders from across the world in mapping down solutions to emerging challenges in this new technology driven era was undoubtedly an enlightened experience. The plate form provided me with an opportunity to express my ideas on the Theme "Enhancing quality education and accessibility to e-learning for children" being the delegate of Oman at UNESCO committee of the UNs. Representing a country other than Pakistan was not easy as I had to enhance my research on the topic from an Omani perspective but gradually it got interesting as I get to know how other countries see Pakistan and question it's policies at International conferences. The lacunas that are yet to be addressed in the field of E-learning and the hidden potentials that remain unexploited albeit our so called smart educational policies. I founded a bloc with Egypt, Spain, Korea, Singapore and Iceland and proposed a common resolution aiming to enhance accessibility to e-learning for children in conflict zones as well as those who lack access to quality education due to disability, poverty, living in less developed / remote areas. Our bloc derived the whole discussion towards the conclusion that E-learning can be used as a tool to help less fortunate children become adaptable to international education standards. It can be used to exploit the full potential of our Youth. Technology should not be a luxury, it should be a gateway to explore the vastness of excellence and achieve incredible success.

Chevening Scholar ◾ I am on a mission to help children in rural and marginalized communities to harness their literacy potential for personal success and global peace. #EdTech #AIED #Literacy
These past two years have been a mix of opportunities and setbacks, but I have persevered. In 2020, I wondered the possibility of securing a fully funded scholarship for my postgraduate studies. I understood that it takes more than passion; it demands focus, consistency, perseverance, and clarity of purpose. I attended webinars, refined my goals, and built strong determination. In 2021, I was advised to start applying for scholarships, but life's responsibilities kept me from submitting applications. I did some research and documented details about my schools and courses of interest. I became deeply involved in mentoring students who achieved remarkable success. This was a vital part of my journey, teaching me that "clarity comes with doing than hoping". In 2022, I faced new challenges but also saw progress in my work as an educator. I applied and won a partial scholarship from NUTM but couldn't raise the remaining funds. Thanks to the support of individuals like Ibrahim Nurein, who believed in me. In September 2022, I revisited my Chevening Scholarship application with renewed determination. I gained clarity on my MSc in Education (Learning, Technology, and Society) which I had researched in 2021. With guidance from mentors, I submitted my application in November 2022. I also applied for other scholarships, facing rejections but not giving up. Now, I am privileged and grateful to continue my professional journey with a Master's program in the field of Education, hoping to explore opportunities around Education and International Development, EdTech Innovation and Educational Leadership going forward. Many thanks to Chevening Awards (FCDO), UK in Nigeria, and University of Bristol.
