Worker dies at JOANN fabric store in Hillsboro

HILLSBORO, Ore. – Emergency personnel found a worker at a JoAnn Fabric Store in Hillsboro unresponsive early Wednesday morning. The person was treated, but died at the scene.

Hillsboro Fire Department responded to a report of a medical at JoAnn Fabric and Craft at 7270 NE Butler St. shortly after 3:30 a.m.

Officials say a worker was on scaffolding and had been unresponsive for about 20 minutes.

Firefighters arrived and used a lift to get to the person.

Bruce Montgomery from Hillsboro Fire Department said the person died at the scene. Medics aren’t sure what the cause of death is.

A medical examiner responded to the scene to investigate.
