HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

An individual HIFU non-surgical face lift treatment takes between 1-2.5 hours, depending on the areas treated. This is made up of the face mapping prior to the treatment and the HIFU itself.

WHEN CAN I SEE THE RESULTS?

The HIFU non-surgical face lift takes 12 weeks to take full effect. This is due to the healing time of the SMAS and Dermal layers of the skin. Most people do start to notice a tightening effect after a few weeks

WILL THE RESULTS LAST?

The HIFU non-surgical face lift lasts on average of 12 to 18 months on most people, this does vary on an individual basis due to genetics and lifestyle

ABOUT HIFU

HIFU, or High Intensity Focused Ultrasound, is a revolutionary treatment for a non-surgical approach to a traditional surgical facelift.

It works by penetrating energy into the Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System- the muscular system of the face, this is the same system that is manipulated during a surgical facelift, the deep dermis, and subcutaneous fibrous tissue.

Energy is transmitted into these layers causing controlled trauma. This then causes contraction and tightening of the muscular layer, leading to repair, and immediate collagen stimulation, rejuvenating, firming, and plumping the skin.

WHY IT'S THE CLOSEST TREATMENT TO A SURGICAL FACELIFT

HIFU works by delivering multiple beams of ultrasound on to a specific target. These targets are:

  • The dermal layer of the skin, where delivery of the ultrasound causes controlled trauma, which then causes immediate contraction of the skin, and new collagen stimulation.
  • The SMAS layer, which stands for the Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System. This is the layer which is cut during a surgical facelift.

HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) facelift is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that uses ultrasound energy to lift and tighten the skin on the face and neck. It targets the deep layers of the skin, stimulating collagen production and providing a lifting effect. Here’s how HIFU face lift treatment typically works:

Consultation: The process usually begins with a consultation. This will allow us to assess your skin, discuss your concerns and goals, and determine if you are a suitable candidate for HIFU facelift.  Pre-treatment instructions, such as avoiding certain medications or skincare products will also be given

Preparation: Before the procedure, the treatment area is usually cleansed, and the face is mapped into sections. Ultrasound gel is then applied to enhance comfort during the treatment.

Treatment: During the treatment, a handheld device that emits focused ultrasound energy is passed over the targeted areas of the face and neck. The ultrasound energy penetrates the deep layers of the skin, delivering precise heat to stimulate collagen production. The heat causes immediate tissue contraction and triggers the body’s natural healing response, leading to gradual skin tightening and lifting over time.

Sensation: You may experience some discomfort or heat sensation during the treatment as the ultrasound energy is delivered. However, the discomfort is generally tolerable, and numbing cream or pain relief options can be used to minimize any discomfort.

Sessions: The HIFU non-surgical face lift is a single treatment, which can be repeated every 12-18 months

Recovery and Results: The HIFU non-surgical face lift is a non-invasive procedure, so there is typically little to no downtime. You can generally resume your normal activities immediately after the treatment. Some individuals may experience mild redness, swelling, or temporary skin sensitivity, but these effects usually subside within a few hours or days. Results from HIFU face lift treatment gradually become apparent over a few months as collagen production is stimulated and skin tightening occurs. I weighed up the surgical vs. non-surgical versions of a facelift and I'm so happy I opted for the non-surgical HIFU.
