KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Najib Razak's daughter Nooryana Najwa has a dream, and that is seeing Umno being a strong, dominant political party in Malaysia.

Nooryana, also known as Yana Najib, drew on her experience as a child attending the Umno General Assembly, saying that she hopes that her son Adam Razak and her unborn child will be party members in future.

"I have a dream. I want to see Umno rise again to become a strong, dominant party.

"I want to see Adam donning the red shirt, singing the Umno anthem and waving the party flag one day," said Nooryana during her speech at the Umno General Assembly at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur on Saturday (June 10).

To bring Umno back to its glory, Nooryana said the party must focus on galvanising grassroots support in Umno strongholds.

At the same time, Nooryana said that this afternoon (June 10) would be the first time in a fortnight where family members would be allowed to visit Najib at the Kajang Prison.

"My mother will convey your (Umno delegates) spirits to ‘bossku’ so he knows that he is not alone," added Nooryana.

Najib is currently serving a 12-year prison sentence.

Umno had previously announced that it would be seeking an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to present an application to consider a royal pardon for Najib.

The first royal pardon was filed by Najib on Sept 2 last year, about 10 days after he was imprisoned on Aug 23 last year.
