View In Browser An Update from the Eanes ISD Board of Trustees Superintendent's Report We held our last board meetings for the 2020-21 school year in June, wrapping up important items such as the budget and tax rate proposal. We will resume meetings in August as we prepare for the new school year.
In June, the Board received updated enrollment projections, an update on 2019 Bond construction projects, a SSHAC report, DEI update and more. We were also thrilled to accept $2.55 million from the Eanes Education Foundation which will fund 47 teachers for 2021-22. What an amazing accomplishment during a pandemic! We are truly grateful to our community for its support.
See a synopsis of the June meetings below. Full Board agenda packets are online.
Budget Approved, Lower Tax Rate Proposed The Board approved the 2021-22 budget with a projected $1 million deficit in the General Fund, approximately $500,000 surplus in the Debt Service Fund (Bond Fund) and an estimated $20,000 deficit in the Child Nutrition Fund (Food Services).
Trustees were also presented the proposed tax rate, which drops from $1.1164 to $1.0722. Due to recent tax elections and HB3 tax rate compression, the EISD tax rate has dropped more than 12 cents since 2019, saving taxpayers approximately $1,403 for $1 million in taxable value. The Board will approve the final tax rate in August.
