The Beginning

²² And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us,^(A) knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life^(B) and eat, and live forever.”

¹⁹ Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,^(A) baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,^(B)

² who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge^(A) of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit,^(B) to be obedient^(C) to Jesus Christ and sprinkled with his blood:^(D)

Grace and peace be yours in abundance.^(E)

¹⁴ May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ,^(A) and the love of God,^(B) and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit^(C) be with you all.

⁶ This is the one who came by water and blood^(A)—Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.^{(B) 7} For there are three^(C) that testify: ⁸ the^[a] Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.
