Camera has already started rolling for the much-awaited thriller, slated to release in August. It’s a tight schedule and Arindam wants to wrap up the shoot as early as possible. The first-look posters from the film have already garnered quite a lot of attention on social media and the director is happy to see the excitement among cine lovers. ‘Byomkesh Hatyamancha’ is based on Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay’s unfinished story Bishupal Bodh, and to develop the script, Arindam joined hands with his trusted friend Padmanava Dasgupta. Like many of Arindam’s films, Bickram Ghosh has been roped in to compose the music.
Arindam Sil’s previous three Byomkesh ‘Har Har Byomkesh’ (2015), ‘Byomkesh Pawrbo’ (2016) and ‘Byomkesh Gotro’ (2018) were huge hits and this time also the ace director believes the audience will shower their love on his fourth Byomkesh directorial.
The plot, set in the tumultuous Naxalite uprising in Bengal in 1971, sees Byomkesh Bakshi getting involved in a story of vengeance when he decides to attend a play at the theatre and becomes witness to a crime unfolding on the center stage. As Byomkesh Bakshi digs deep into the case, it opens him to a tripartite story of love, betrayal, and infidelity. How the mystery is laid bare for Byomkesh to solve forms the crux of the story.
