Book Synopsis
What happens when society takes control of your mind and how you think? This book speaks on all of the issues going on in today’s society and how the rich, wealthy and elite do everything in their power to keep the American people under mind control. There are different tactics and ways they use to make sure we as a people don’t strive for greatness in life. It starts from when you’re a child in the education system and how we’re taught to be obedient and to respect authority all the way into Corporate America. Our minds are programmed on a daily basis and whether we realize it or not, we don’t take the time to see the bigger picture of how the world is run. From the music we listen to, to the television we watch, the politics they control and infiltrate, this book deals head on with how we the American people are controlled by so many messages on a daily basis. It’s a book that speaks truth into how this country and the world is in shambles and how we need to come together as a nation

America Under Mind Control is a thought provoking novel. The author Jamell Crouthers shows how different segments of society whether it be music, media, magazine, guns or trademarks influence people in different manner and shape their thinking patterns. We are so much a product of society that we have lost our individuality and behave like anyone else. We laugh and dance at silly and meaningless songs and greed and self satisfaction is our biggest motto in life. We crave physical satisfaction more than mental or spiritual satisfaction. Instead of being together and fighting against a united cause we spend our time fighting against one another. This is the tragedy of our time and we are not even aware of it.

As for negative feedback I could only say that the book could have been written in a more impactful manner. However the issue raised by it is so thought provoking that I am giving it a five star.

Reviewing books is an interesting task, and you never know what will be sent over, and can only hope for quality pieces to be entertained, as well as inspired. "America Under Mind Control," is just that. A very compelling read, centered around the theme of it's title, Jamell Crouthers brings to the world something refreshing and disturbing, all at the same time. This poetry collection is spoken-word free verse poetry, and it is an attention-grabbing piece, which I was very impressed with.
The book opens with a perfect line to emphasize it’s intense, and intellectual natural; "Welcome to the Madness of Poetic Writing."--And, mad, deep, profound, passionate writing it is! The flow is like that of a performance artist with dramatic, forceful delivery that causes you to feel the topics and allow them to penetrate, perhaps as harsh as the author does, himself.
One can't help but feel a bit perplexed after reviewing this collection. There are many different pieces, though all center around the novel's main theme: the average American being part of the herd--led to nowhere and nothing, but greed and narcissism, without question or reason. Crouthers dedicates his book to those of us who have a profound understanding of the world's matters, and seek truth and substance over frivolous living and spending, vapid and shallow existence, and the general ignorance brought to the table by almost, all middle-America.
I found it to be disconcerting, and inspiring all at the same time. There is a spiritual side to the author, undoubtedly, and one can't help but appreciate that. He tackles issues from the Rothschilds, credit card debit, to social media, and everything in between. While some might tag this paranoid and irrational, I found it to be the opposite. Though one might not agree with all of what Crouthers brings to the forefront, it does cause your brain to tick at a faster pace, and no doubt about it--it is an eye-popper.
The book's philosophical street prophet, so-to-speak, provided me with material that enforced upon me an acceptance of the one ideal that never fades--that we are brainwashed as a society, and I among--unfortunately--so few others, desire to break free from the grip of society's massive and strong hands, and to live a life defined by what I CONSIDER productive, and Crouthers seconds that notion with “America Under Mind Control.”
The book is 125 or so pages, a lengthy number for poetry, but it delivers. There were a few grammatical errors, yet with this type of piece, that matters little. A lack of grammar perfection is actually the opposite of poor writing, when it comes to free verse, because speaking in this tone, with these themes, only makes it seem even more authentic. It’s as if you are watching a man preach to the masses, versus a story that focuses more on technical writing, ignoring the initial point. So, I appreciated the writing and form, and I absolutely recommend this to those whom have courage to take a deeper look.

This book is perhaps the most eye-opening book I have ever read. It covers everyday issues in a manner that submerges the reader and keeps them hooked. From the foods we put in our bodies to the music we listen to, Jamell Crouthers explains how we are mind-controlled.
The way he personifies our problems is fascinating.
If you want to obtain spiritual and mental freedom, this is the book for you. If you want to follow your own path, this is the book for you.

Using somewhat cliche phrases such as “eye opening” and “mind blowing” to describe Jamell Crouthers’ America Under Mind Control doesn't quite do it justice; however, that is the exact effect that this book has on the eyes and minds of readers.

This well-written book is an eye-opener for people who are not aware of what is going on around them. I agree with many of the issues brought up such as name brands keeping normal people under debt. I must admit that I am a victim of that too. Many times I prefer to buy some brand name products and pay more, hoping that I will get a high quality product. While that product might be good indeed, there are others less expensive which are just as good or sometimes better.
While many people are aware of this truth, it is difficult to escape the mind control that big brands and rich people have over us.
The author also touches a sensitive subject about the education system. As children we are taught that we should always respect authority. This is why as grownups we are afraid to speak up.
This book helps you reset the way you are thinking and helps you start a new, better life.

Poet and writer Jamell Crouthers (who on the Internet assumes the moniker ‘Aquarianmind’) has been writing poetry since he was 13 years old. He didn't take his writing ability seriously until his late 20s. Jamell creates thought-provoking content about different aspects of life. His goal is ‘to write as many poetry books on societal issues that we all face in today's age. Through writing poetry, it is an easy read for others and it's a gateway to getting inside of my mind and how I write.‘

Jamell’s topics for his poems range from contemporary education problems, gambling, gun control, print media, food, diseases and Medicine, police brutality, credit cards, the military, the social media – select a contemporary topic and Jamell has written about it – how society takes control of our mind and how we think. Or as Jamell phrases it in the synopsis, ‘This book speaks on all of the issues going on in today’s society and how the rich, wealthy and elite do everything in their power to keep the American people under mind control. It’s a book that speaks truth into how this country and the world is in shambles and how we need to come together as a nation and as a people and do better.’

Read and think and read again. We need young minds open to challenging the status quo and Jamell does just that. He makes you uncomfortable for a moment, and if he does then help the changes necessary. Jamell Crouthers is a contemporary seer.

America Under Mind Control by Jamell Crouthers speaks to the mind of those conscious of the world around them, and seeks to awaken those still unaware. Crouthers’ poetry brings about questions that most are oblivious to ask. He touches subjects such as the Rothchild’s and their control of the money, the music industry and how they play the part of shaping the young minds, the fashion industry and how name brands keep people enslaved and in debt. This book is a must read for those who are tired of the American societal woes such as poverty, crime, and racism.
America Under Mind Control should be read in small doses and meditated on, chapter by chapter. Each poem contains so many pertinent messages that it’s impossible to read them through in haste. Each poem should be dissected and examined, pondered, and discussed. This is the perfect book for round table discussion for people seeking to create change in American society. This is also the perfect gift for someone who needs this information to see our society with a different perspective.
My personal favorite is Corporate America Wealth (the Holidays). For years, I have preached against the commercialism of the holidays. As a Christian pastor in America I am appalled by the use of holidays as a corporate ploy to make money. Thousands and thousands of dollars have been made for companies and they have little to do with the actual holiday. Most holidays are geared around children and parents feel obligated to spend money to create the perfect holiday. My next favorite is, Student Loans, Again, another ploy, along with credit cards to keep Americans in debt. Most people value higher education and spend enormous amounts of money earning degrees that will never repay the debt that they accumulate earning them. More people end up working in a field that has nothing to do with their formal education.
Jamell Crouthers tells it like it is. He is not afraid to let the societal ailments come to the surface. He exposes every vile aspect of our world and shines a light so bright it can’t be ignored. This book is the truth. He makes sense and demands that we address these things in our own minds. No one can read this book and not self-reflect and be convicted in some area. He has written it so that the reader is accountable with the knowledge that he has given. His words almost say, “Here is the knowledge, now what are you going to do about it?” One feels obligated to change habits and trends after reading this book.
My only request concerning this book is that there is a sequel. I feel that the information was so valuable that it is worth a second and maybe a third to clarify and expound. People who know how the world works would agree that it’s hard to hit every piece in one manuscript, however Crouthers does a wonderful job of it. This is the type of book that I would buy for my adult daughters and ask that they read it and discuss it with me. These are things that I had to learn over time.
