Tortoise & Freshwater Turtle Field Skills Training Course, Laos PDR 2023


The Asian Turtle Program (ATP) of Indo-Myanmar Conservation (IMC) would like to announce the opportunity to participate in the sixteenth “Tortoise and Freshwater Turtle Field Skills Training Course”. The course will be hosted by  ATP in collaboration with  Laos Conservation Trust for Wildlife (LCTW) and National University of Laos (NUOL)

Course’s participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Gain knowledge on tortoise & freshwater turtle identification and their conservation status in Laos PDR
  • Gain more insights on tortoise & freshwater turtle biology, ecology and behaviour
  • Obtaining new field research skills, including surveying, animal handling and data collection focusing on tortoise & freshwater turtle
  • A chance to complete a short research project following the course

Laotian students, young national biologists, conservationists.

SCHOLARSHIPS & FEE

  • The course is free, ATP and our partner organisations are able to provide full scholarship for all participants on this course.
  • All fees go to supplying the course including food, tuition, accommodations and transportation throughout the course
  • Please clearly state on the application if you’re able to cover your own cost or applying for the scholarship.
